Identifying and integrating customer requests early.

Market research was a highly important aspect of the development of the new Sprinter. The customers’ needs were analysed and integrated into the process. Using realistic situations, the team headed by Norbert Kunz, product and marketing manager for the Sprinter, actively exchanged information with customers and extensively tested the prototypes.

Above all, the main request was for connectivity. “Customers want to know where their vehicle is at all times”, explains Kunz.

Perfectly tailored to users and the way they use it.

From classic courier services and passenger transport to motorhomes and mobile workshops: the Sprinter is used in so many different ways. Social and economic developments such as urbanisation and the rise of online business have rapidly changed the needs of van customers within only a short period of time. The requirements for the vehicle have changed accordingly: there is an increased need for transport and in future this will need to be faster, more efficient and, above all, more environment-friendly. Mercedes-Benz Vans has anticipated this transformation with its networking solutions, for example.

Tailored solutions for diverse requirements.

The new Sprinter can be perfectly adapted to meet the customers’ wants and needs. It is available for the first time with more than 1,700 different variants, providing the perfectly configured vehicle for customers in the most diverse industries. Various body types, drive concepts, cabin design options, body lengths, tonnages, cargo area heights and equipment variants make the Sprinter a highly versatile all-rounder. The spectrum of cabin options ranges from 2 to 20 seats – including the driver’s seat. “The new Sprinter is the best Sprinter of all time and will continue the success story of its predecessor”, sums up Kunz.
