Just a few hours after the official ABB FIA Formula E Championship race in Berlin, around 700 registered runners entered the track.
The start was in the early evening in an unique running atmosphere. The EQC - the first Mercedes-Benz model under the product and technology brand EQ - set the pace in the beginning. After a few hundred meters of warm-up, the track was open and the athletes were able to push to their limits.
The goal: Run as many laps as possible in 60 minutes on the 2.37 kilometer track. In addition to the starting fee of 25 Euros, also one Euro for each lap a runner finished was donated. The effort and the sweat of the participants were worth it: 17,863 Euros were collected at the charity running event.
The total donation for local projects of the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation was rounded up by Mercedes-Benz and smart to a total of 25,000 Euros.
