The Mercedes-Benz EQC sets the pace.

Just a few hours after the official ABB FIA Formula E Championship race in Berlin, around 700 registered runners entered the track.

The start was in the early evening in an unique running atmosphere. The EQC - the first Mercedes-Benz model under the product and technology brand EQ - set the pace in the beginning. After a few hundred meters of warm-up, the track was open and the athletes were able to push to their limits.

The goal: Run as many laps as possible in 60 minutes on the 2.37 kilometer track. In addition to the starting fee of 25 Euros, also one Euro for each lap a runner finished was donated. The effort and the sweat of the participants were worth it: 17,863 Euros were collected at the charity running event.

The total donation for local projects of the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation was rounded up by Mercedes-Benz and smart to a total of 25,000 Euros.

Celebrities contribute to the success of the race.

Mercedes-Benz EQ Run did not lack a prominent support as well. After visiting the ABB Formula E race, four-time Ironman Hawaii winner Daniela Ryf together with Big Wave surfer Sebastian Steudtner gave the starting signal.

In addition to the two Laureus ambassadors, Stefanie Giesinger, winner of the ninth season of the casting show Germany's Next Topmodel, contributed her share to the great donation sum. Giesinger gave everything on the race track and was cheered on by the spectators.

Additionally the host tried to get everything out of the runners: Presenter Jan Köppen proved with his skills that he can not only lead through the TV show "Ninja Warrior Germany", but also heat up runners at a charity running event.

Run and Recharge - Relaxation at the Mercedes-Benz EQ stand.

After the 60-minute run, the participants were able to recharge their personal batteries according to the motto "Run and Recharge".

At the Mercedes-Benz EQ stand the opportunity was given to refresh oneself with cool drinks and  healthy snacks. The runners were also able to discover the latest smart city trends and future mobility solutions from Mercedes-Benz.

The relaxed get-together was accompanied by beats from a smart equipped with JBL boxes, which provided the right sound.
