The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team experienced a tough race weekend on their debut last year at Monaco’s legendary Grand Prix Circuit, so the whole team had big plans for the home round of their two drivers who live in the principality, Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries. And as things turned out, race day did not disappoint!
After the double header on Rome’s street circuit, the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team will be contesting the sixth round of the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the weekend which is one of the highlights of the year.
Nyck de Vries: “The Rome weekend was tough on us, but we’ve got a bit of a home race this week in Monaco, so I’m really looking forward to being able to hit back there”
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returned to the Italian capital last weekend, with two action-packed races on the bill. As usual, Rome provided a fantastic backdrop for the all-electric racing series and plenty of excitement for the spectators gathered in the stands. For Mercedes-EQ, however, the race weekend in the ‘Eternal City’ turned out to be something of a mixed bag.
