Berlin 2022: A very special place for the team

"Berlin has been a pretty special place for the team, right from its inception," said Team Principal Ian James. "Berlin is always going to hold a special place in our hearts and the fact that it's a home race for Mercedes-Benz makes it all the more special."

Double challenge for Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team in Berlin

The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team will have to deal with two different circuit layouts in rounds seven and eight of the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula World Championship at Tempelhof Airport.

Stoffel Vandoorne: “The old airfield’s tarmac is pretty unique, so it’s super important to get the car in a window where it goes well.”

Monaco 2022: Triumph in the Principality

The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team experienced a tough race weekend on their debut last year at Monaco’s legendary Grand Prix Circuit, so the whole team had big plans for the home round of their two drivers who live in the principality, Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries. And as things turned out, race day did not disappoint!

Team set to tackle Principality’s iconic street circuit

After the double header on Rome’s street circuit, the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team will be contesting the sixth round of the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the weekend which is one of the highlights of the year. 

Nyck de Vries: “The Rome weekend was tough on us, but we’ve got a bit of a home race this week in Monaco, so I’m really looking forward to being able to hit back there”

Rome 2022: Useful points haul

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returned to the Italian capital last weekend, with two action-packed races on the bill. As usual, Rome provided a fantastic backdrop for the all-electric racing series and plenty of excitement for the spectators gathered in the stands. For Mercedes-EQ, however, the race weekend in the ‘Eternal City’ turned out to be something of a mixed bag.

Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team returning to streets of Rome

The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team is set to return to the racetrack for next weekend’s Rome E-Prix after a twelve-week break.

Nyck de Vries: “We had a competitive package the last time we were in Rome, and hopefully, we can build on that again this year.”

Diriyah 2022: Highlights and mixed emotions

For the second time in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the season kicked-off with a floodlit spectacular at the Diriyah Circuit in Saudi Arabia. As was the case last year, Mercedes-EQ found the second day of racing more challenging than the first.

Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship gets underway for the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team this coming weekend, and for the fourth year in a row, the Diriyah E-Prix will be the curtain-raiser event.

Nyck kicked off his second season in the all-electric racing series with his first win in late February 2021. Five months and 20 days later, he was crowned the first World Champion in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the season finale in Berlin.
