The sensation of the early 1990s.

At the IAA international motor show in Frankfurt in September 1991, Mercedes-Benz presented the cabriolet model of its mid-range series W 124, the A 124 – a genuine sensation, since this was the first four-seater cabriolet model in twenty years to sport the three-pointed star. Series production began at the Sindelfingen plant in 1992, initially with just one variant, the 300 CE-24. The model series was discontinued in 1997. By the time production came to an end almost 34,000 vehicles had been built, most of them 300 CE-24 or E 320 six-cylinder models.
