A concept car as a source of ideas: For its new “Boss for Mercedes-Benz Collection”, the Metzingen-based design team drew inspiration from the F 015 research vehicle. The radiator grille is just one particularly eye-catching detail of this spectacular futuristic design. Boss Menswear designers conveyed the structure and surface details of the car in a pattern which forms a theme throughout the entire fashion collection. The sleek lines of the F 015 are reinterpreted in the collection’s cuts. The blue lights of the front of the concept car are, in turn, seen here as colour accents. They symbolise the digital components of the vehicle.
The collection is presented by Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton (right) and Valtteri Bottas, the drivers for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Team. Sporty notes have made their way into the collection as well – like the effects on the shell for instance, which make up the vibrant accents of the zip. High-end nylon material is just as prominent in the collection as merino wool and nappa leather. Boss for Mercedes-Benz Collection combines the fashion house’s high style standards with the vehicle manufacturer’s distinct design to create twelve truly unique pieces. The cooperation between the brands began three years ago and has resulted in the equipment for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Team as well as a biannual Boss for Mercedes-Benz Collection.
