The global e-mobility production network of Mercedes-Benz is ready for electrifying the future. In 2017 we have set an important strategic course: electric hubs for the production of electric vehicles and batteries are currently being built around the globe. Over the next few years, Mercedes-Benz will be investing ten billion euros in the expansion of its electrical fleet and an additional one billion euros in a global battery production network, which currently comprises five battery factories on three continents.
EQ – Electric Intelligence – is far more than just about the development and production of electric and partially electric vehicles. It’s about rethinking the concept of mobility from scratch – and so, too, about reinventing the Mercedes-Benz brand. Indeed, sustainable mobility is more than simply an issue that reflects the current zeitgeist. The task of reducing the consumption and the emissions involved in driving a car is one that impacts upon the future of our planet. To do so while at the same time increasing safety as well as the fun of driving is the sort of challenge that Mercedes-Benz relishes.
