The Sinclair C5 is an electric scooter from the 1980s, which developed from [link url= http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20141209-sinclair-c5-30-years-too-soontarget=_blank]a flop into an icon[/link]. The inventor’s nephew has now presented his version of the nippy tricycle: the eTrike. Equipped with a smartphone interface, routes can be planned and tracked. The battery is said to have a range of 50 miles – with a charging time of only one hour. German startup [link url=http://www.twike.com target=_blank]Twike[/link] has implemented a very similar idea. It remains to be seen who will win the race.
