Mercedes-Benz supports emerging designers worldwide.
Fashion network. The Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program is a unique global fashion network for emerging talents. With this new programme and platform, Mercedes-Benz highlights the brand’s commitment to supporting up-and-coming designers by offering them unique access to key international markets. Since its launch in 2009, the initiative has enriched fashion weeks globally and enabled designers to establish important connections in a fashion marketplace where it’s becoming increasingly important to be present on a global scale.
Experiential values. The Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program is a unique project within the fashion industry. Often connected to a local newcomer award, the initiative is currently active across all Mercedes-Benz supported global fashion platforms. A key element of the program is catering for different starting situations: While some of the participating designers are just emerging, many others are already well-established, yet clearly benefit from the brand’s support to increase their international renown and standing.
Growing a business. The Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program not only works to bring designers to new territories, but also helps them build their own networks and relationships, both locally and internationally. By now, Mercedes-Benz is involved in more than 50 international fashion platforms, including Mercedes-Benz fashion weeks in Beijing, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Berlin, as well as the acclaimed International Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères.
Designer showcase. So far in 2016, the International Designer Exchange Program has seen five designers showcase their work in new markets, thanks to Mercedes-Benz: Spanish designer Xavi Reyes presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, Chinese designer Xiao Li closed the London Fashion Week, Czech designer Tereza Rosalie Kladosova showcased during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, London designer Mary Katrantzou was selected to present at Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week, and Spanish designer Ela Fidalgo presented at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.
