Monteblanco Test – Day Three

Successful tests mark start of new season. After three days of testing at Monteblanco in Spain, Paul Di Resta and Gary Paffett wrapped up the week of testing for the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team.

A total of 145 laps

The two British driver covered 145 laps in total on the final test day, which equates to 487 km, increasing the number of test kilometres completed by the team this week in the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM to 1,799 km.

After completing 104 laps, Paul Di Resta finished the third day of testing with a 1:21.923 to place third. His Mercedes-AMG DTM colleague, Gary Paffett, secured the sixth fastest time of 1:22.415 minutes after 41 laps of the 3.357 km circuit.

The next round of tests will take place April 5th-8th as part of the official ITR testing days at Hockenheim. The DTM will kick off the new season at the same venue on the weekend of May 6th-8th.

Statements

Paul Di Resta:
"Another good day at the test. We learned a lot about the car and I will be leaving Monteblanco with a good feeling. We definitely made a step forward over the last few days. Now I'm looking forward to the next test in Hockenheim. It is going to be interesting to drive the car on a track we know so well."

Gary Paffett:
"My second day of testing this week here in Monteblanco was a little disappointing. We had technical issues in the morning that we had to sort out. We lost a lot of time, and I couldn't get out on track until the afternoon. We then worked on set-up and collected loads of data. The car feels good. There's obviously still plenty to do, but it's nice to be back in the car, and I'm really looking forward to the next test at Hockenheim and improving the car's setup."

Ulrich Fritz, Head of Mercedes-AMG DTM:
"We're generally satisfied with the test. We completed most of our test programme and gained some important insights. Seeing the cars back out on track obviously makes your spirits soar in anticipation of the season opener. We certainly still have plenty of work ahead of us, but the whole team are really champing at the bit to get the season started."
