Daniel Juncadella fit for DTM at Hockenheim after all
Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Daniel Juncadella (PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) is able to compete in the last two races of the 2015 DTM season at Hockenheim after all. The Spaniard was temporarily out of action on Friday due to a bout of food poisoning and was unavailable for free practice. On Saturday, he will be back in the cockpit of his PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM in time for the second practice session.
On Friday, Mercedes-AMG DTM test and reserve driver Esteban Ocon (19, France) stepped in for the indisposed Juncadella and put the car through its paces in FP1 at Hockenheim.
Ulrich Fritz, Head of Mercedes-AMG DTM:
"I am relieved to see that Daniel Juncadella has pulled through this episode of food poisoning and is now fit enough to line up for the last race weekend of the season at Hockenheim. Special thanks go to our medical department who have given him such superb care. I would also like to thank our test and reserve driver Esteban Ocon who was thrown in at the deep end in the first free practice session without any time for preparation and who has done such a great job of standing in for Daniel."
