Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage – the new generation.

At the world´s leading exhibition for the solar industry, the ees Europe & Intersolar (May 31 – June 2, 2017) in Munich, Mercedes-Benz Energy introduced the new generation of Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage systems.

The new generation of Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage Home wins you over with its Mercedes-Benz Made in Germany quality. The new performance: Up to triple battery power and 120 % of system capacity compared to the first generation of our energy storage system.

Daimler lays foundation for one of the biggest and most modern battery factories in the world.

Guests of honour at the ceremony were Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and Stanislaw Tillich (Minister President of Saxony), who, together with Dieter Zetsche (Chairman of the Board of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars), Markus Schäfer (Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Production and Supply Chain), Frank Deiss (Head of Powertrain Production and Site Manager Mercedes-Benz Plant Untertürkheim) and Frank Blome (Managing Director Deutsche Accumotive GmbH & Co. KG), laid the casing of a vehicle battery as the foundation stone. Car batteries as well as Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage systems will be produced in this factory in Kamenz, Saxony.

Mercedes-Benz Energy teams up with Vivint Solar in the U.S.

Mercedes-Benz Energy Americas, LLC announced a strategic collaboration with Vivint Solar, LLC to bring the Mercedes-Benz customizable home energy storage system to North America. The two companies will introduce a joint offering that will provide customers with the proven German engineering and performance of Mercedes-Benz batteries coupled with Vivint Solar’s expertise in designing, installing and servicing solar energy systems.

Daimler AG is expanding its stationary energy storage business to the U.S. market. After this year’s founding of the German Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH, a completely new subsidiary responsible for the development and global sale of Mercedes-Benz brand stationary energy storage, Daimler marks a further step towards growing the market. The newly established Mercedes-Benz Energy Americas, LLC is assuming the development and sale of stationary energy systems for residential, commercial and utility applications for the North-American market.

Most advanced battery factory in Europe.

From Kamenz into the world. The construction phase for a second battery factory at Daimler subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE’s site in Kamenz has begun, thus another step into the future of electric mobility has been taken. One of the biggest and most advanced battery factories in Europe is developing through an investment of about 500 million Euros.

The company accounts for the production of Mercedes-Benz energy storage systems – in close co-operation with affiliated company Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH, which is responsible for development and worldwide distribution.

From Kamenz into the world. Daimler establishes global production network for lithium ion batteries.

Daimler commences delivery of Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage systems for homes.

Together with its subsidiary Deutsche ACCUMOTIVE, Daimler AG is taking the next step in its stationary energy storage business. After having started the development and production of stationary storage systems last year, and following the launch of some major industrial projects focusing on primary balancing power, the delivery of residential storage systems is now commencing. Sales are being channelled through a network of sales and cooperation partners throughout Germany. “Our energy storage systems are attracting enormous interest. We have already received a lot of orders. Over the coming months, we will be further intensifying and expanding our sales capacities in both Germany and abroad,” explains Harald Kröger, head of development for electrics, electronics and e-drive at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Daimler and enercity turn a spare parts store into an energy storage system.

Before this year is out, partners Daimler AG – through its wholly owned subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE – and enercity (Stadtwerke Hannover AG) will commence construction of a new battery storage facility. What makes it so special is the fact that it is actually a spare parts store for electromotive battery systems. Some 3,000 of the battery modules held in stock for the current fleet of smart electric-drive vehicles are being pooled into one stationary storage system at enercity’s site in Herrenhausen.
