  • Mercedes-Benz SS touring car, 1930.

The Mercedes-Benz SS (standing for “Super Sport”) made its debut in 1928 as the second model in a series of supercharged sports cars which dominated motorsport in the late 1920s and became world famous under their nickname “white elephants”. The SS model was also popular around the world as an exclusive road-going sports car. In 1930 the Maharaja Bahadur took delivery of one of only 111 vehicles built, a four-seater touring car in an attractive two-tone paint finish.
