Mercedes-Benz/Alpha-Real solar-energy vehicle.
Driving this solar car, 21-year-old Mercedes-Benz technician Peter Bauer won the “Tour de Sol Centennial Rally” from Lake Constance to Lake Geneva in 1985. The two electric motors of the car were fed by 432 solar cells. With the exception of the solar generator and the drive system, the trainees of the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim plants had designed and built the solar car themselves.
