    Passenger ride event concludes special exhibition “50 Years of AMG”.

The rides can be won on the day itself on-site.

The successful exhibition “50 Years of AMG” will come to a close on 6 May 2018 with a passenger ride event. Guests can experience the powerful Mercedes-AMG vehicles on the company’s own test track at the Mercedes-Benz Untertürkheim plant. Those at the wheel will include racing drivers and instructors Christian Hohenadel, Maximilian Goetz and Karl Wendlinger from the AMG Driving Academy. The rides can be won on the day itself on-site. Mercedes-AMG will also be presenting special AMG vehicles in front of the Museum and in the Atrium. Those who own a car belonging to this performance and sports car brand can park on Museum Hill.

Opening of the AMG special exhibition in the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Extended until 6 May.

Nearly 200,000 people have visited the special exhibition “50 Years of AMG” at the Mercedes-Benz Museum since October 2017. Due to the huge interest, the exhibition in the Collection 5 section of the Museum was even extended by about a month until 6 May. To mark the finale, on the last day of the exhibition, a wide range of activities connected with Mercedes-AMG will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Experience rides in seven of the brand’s current vehicles.

Fans will be able to experience the pure dynamism of AMG with rides in seven of the brand’s current vehicles. These include the following models:


  • Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC
    (Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 7,4 l/100 km;
    CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 172 g/km.*)
  • Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ Estate
    (Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 9,4–9,1 l/100 km;
    CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 214–206 g/km.*)
  • Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster
    (Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 11,4 l/100 km;
    CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 259 g/km.*)

Tickets for the rides, each for one to three people, will be drawn in the run-up to the event and also on the day itself at the AMG stand on Museum Hill. The minimum age for the rides is 16 years. Those at the wheel will include racing drivers and instructors Christian Hohenadel, Maximilian Goetz and Karl Wendlinger from the AMG Driving Academy.

Stage for current AMG models.

Alongside the rides, another highlight is the route itself on which the AMG vehicles can demonstrate their special vehicle dynamics: the rides will take place on the test track at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim. This area is not usually open to the public. On 6 May it will be turned into a stage for current AMG models.


An open-air AMG exhibition.

On this finale day the area in front of the museum turns into an open-air AMG exhibition. Under the motto “AMG & Friends” all owners of a Mercedes-AMG are invited to park in front of the Museum. Some special vehicles will also be on show:


  • Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Performance Car, which is used as a racing taxi at the AMG Driving Academy
  • Mercedes-AMG GT R Transformer “Drift” from “The Last Knight”, the fifth instalment of the “Transformers” film series which came out in 2016

  • AMG GT C Edition 50

and, in the Atrium of the Museum, the AMG GT R DTM 2018 Safety Car.


The Mercedes-Benz Museum’s special exhibition which opened in October 2017 is showing ten AMG racing vehicles and high-performance series-production cars as well as outstanding engine developments and further exhibits until 6 May 2018. Since 10 April they have been joined by five Mercedes-AMG Black Series vehicles, which are being presented in glass cases in the Museum’s multi-storey car park.
