Programme.

Performers, poetry slam and the special exhibition “50 Years of AMG”: These are some of the highlights at the Mercedes-Benz Museums on the Long Night of the Museums on 17 March 2018. Plus there is the popular stargazing with Stuttgart’s Astronomical Association, and the big AfterParty@Mercedes-Benz Museum in conjunction with the radio station bigFM and DJ P. The action at the Museum starts at 7 p.m. and goes on until 4 a.m..

A Highlight in Stuttgart.

Two interconnected tours lead through the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which is a major visitor highlight in Stuttgart. During the Long Night of Museums 160 vehicles and more than 1,500 exhibits invite visitors on a fascinating journey through time, which begins in 1886 with the first automobiles in the world by Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler and leads to automotive rarities such as the oldest Mercedes “Simplex” as well as legendary classics such as the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”.


Above the stars – a look into the future.

It's time to reach for the stars with the Stuttgart Astronomical Association: weather permitting, the visitors can gaze into the galaxy with a telescope from the roof terrace of the Museum from 7 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.. Or they can simply look out over the Neckar valley and be enchanted by the impressive panorama of the city at night.

7:00 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.: In cooperation with Sternwarte Stuttgart visitors can explore the starry sky on the roof terrace with a telescope. Only possible in good weather conditions. Roof terrace, level 8.


Classics of yesterday and today – on a journey through 130 years of automotive history.

7:15 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.: Welcome to the fascinating journey through more than 130 years of automotive history. Registration on site (75 min).


Guided Tours.

160 automotive stars are currently waiting to be discovered in the Mercedes-Benz Museum itself, including the special '50 Years of AMG' with ten series-production and motorsport vehicles plus eight engines from today's Mercedes-Benz performance brand. The exhibition is open until 2 a.m.. The final lift goes up at 1.15 a.m.. 75-minute guided tours through more than 130 years of automotive history will be held at 7.15 p.m., 7.30 p.m., 8.30 p.m., 9.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m.. Registration takes place directly at the Museum.


3rd Best of Poetry Slam.

Between 8 and 11.30 p.m. the 3rd 'Best of Slam' will be on the agenda. There will be appearances from Germany's best slam poets, including Jophie Kindler, Nik Salsflausen, and Flori Wintels (Great Hall, Level 1). They will be entertaining the audience with their eloquent creativity.

8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.: Germany’s best slam poets will compete at the 3rd Best of Slam competition in the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Great Hall, Level 1.

9:15 p.m., 10:15 p.m., 11:15 p.m.: International artists of the Europa Park take you into the fascinating world of artistry – a show full of speed and dynamism. Atrium, level 1.


Europa-Park live on stage.

The international performers from the Europa-Park amusement park in Rust will be celebrating their premiere when they appear at the Mercedes-Benz Museum on 17 March 2018. Three times during the Long Night they will be transporting visitors in the Atrium on Level 1 to the exciting world of artistry with their fast-paced, dynamic show (9.15 p.m., 10.15 p.m. and 11.15 p.m.).



Afterparty.

The longest party of the night will be held from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. in the Gallery on Level 0. bigFM will be getting guests dancing into the early hours with DJ P. For all the night revellers there will be shuttle buses every 20 minutes directly between the Karlsplatz square (departing from 2.20 a.m., last journey at 4.20 a.m.) and the Mercedes-Benz Museum (departure from 2.35 a.m., final journey 4.35 a.m.).

Afterparty Shuttle Service.

Shuttle buses operate directly between Karlsplatz (departure from 2:20 am in 20-minute intervals, last journey 4:20 am) and Mercedes-Benz Museum (departure from 2:35 am in 20-minute intervals, last journey 4:35 am).

The Mercedes-Benz Museum is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Last admission is at 5 p.m.
