Ten years of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Celebration on occasion of the museum’s anniversary

A taste of the grand anniversary weekend.

On 19 May 2016, exactly ten years to the day since the opening at the new site, the Mercedes-Benz Museum will be inviting you to celebrate its anniversary. Early birds can already celebrate between 5 am and 10 am at the museum’s first pre-work party. On the day, entry to the museum is free of charge between 9 am and 6 pm and the available special tours are also free. On 19 May the new special exhibition entitled “Masterpieces” also launches, detailing the history of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The anniversary gives a taste of the grand anniversary weekend on 4 and 5 June 2016 when we will be expecting well over 10,000 visitors.

Pre-Work-Party.

True to this motto, the Mercedes-Benz Museum launches its anniversary with a new and unconventional format in collaboration with antenne 1, as part of the first pre-work party in an exclusive setting. A DJ will be playing relaxed tunes for 250 early bird visitors in the casino on level 8 and we will provide a delicious breakfast buffet, healthy smoothies and much more. The breakfast is included in the party ticket price of €10, as is the parking charge for the museum car park. Book your tickets online or at the museum reception now!

The pre-work party kicks off the anniversary celebrations, spanning the whole day. In this process, access between 9 am and 6 pm is free of charge.

Celebrating the anniversary with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum opened its doors on 19 May for the new “Masterpieces” special exhibition. Until 6 November 2016, the exhibition in collection room C5 will be telling the story of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class as the innovator of the brand in terms of safety, comfort and design. The exhibition is starring 17 vehicles from eight model series, from the 1950s “Ponton” to the most recent E-Class, launched this year. In this process, the dialogue between different body shapes, from saloon to estate, coupé and convertible, creates a particular excitement. A photo collage of fashion, technology and means of communication from the corresponding decades completes the vehicles on display.

The year of anniversaries.

19 May marks one of several highlights of the 2016 anniversary year. The Mercedes-Benz Museum will be celebrating its first, round birthday since its inauguration in 2006 throughout the year. The grand anniversary weekend, when we expect tens of thousands of visitors, takes place on 4 and 5 June 2016. However, more events follow in the second half of the year: the Cars & Coffee classic car meeting for all makes and brands on every Sunday (19 June to 4 September 2016) and the Mercedes-Benz Lounge (14 June to 4 September 2016). The open air stage will also once again be used in summer: we will be showing the Jungle Book children’s musical and holding open air cinema events.

More than seven million visitors from over 160 nations have visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum since its inauguration. Thanks to varied events it is possible to rediscover the museum and the legend of the Mercedes-Benz brand many a time.
