    Mercedes-Benz design is still at the head of the field: at this year’s Automotive Brand Contest a historic success has been recorded with first places in eleven of 15 categories.

    Mercedes-Benz is the undisputed No. 1 in the renowned design competition and has not just been able to repeat its triumph of the previous two years. This year Mercedes-Benz has managed to post a significant improvement.

    The brand of the year.

    The success is clear proof of the global popularity of the brand’s design. Be it the new GLE Coupé SUV or the F 015 Luxury in Motion research vehicle, the Mercedes-AMG GT or the CLA Shooting Brake – the brand with the star finished clearly ahead of all the other automobile manufacturers at the Automotive Brand Contest 2015, being additionally voted “Brand of the Year” by the panel of judges.

    Best of best.

    Sensual purity as an expression of modern luxury: the judges were equally impressed by both the exterior and interior styling of the various Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The brand was voted “Best of Best” no fewer than three times: the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car, the CLA Shooting Brake and the Future Truck 2025 led the field in the “Exterior Premium Brand” category.

    The F 015 Luxury in Motion, meanwhile, was hailed “Innovation of the Year”.

    The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé emerged as the winner in the “Exterior Premium Brand” and “Interior Premium Brand” categories, while the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake took first place for “Interior Premium Brand”.

    The Mercedes-Benz Vision G-Code was voted into first place in the “Concepts” category. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class was victorious in the “Interior Premium Brand” category and also received a special mention as “Exterior Premium Brand”.

    Special Mention for the smart fortwo.

    It was not just Mercedes-Benz, but also the design of the smart that succeeded in impressing the panel of judges. The smart fortwo received a special mention in the “Interior Premium Brand” category. The Automotive Brand Contest is held every year by the “German Design Council”, a foundation initiated by the German Bundestag. The highly respected design contest is the only neutral, international design competition for automotive brands and has very quickly established itself as one of the world’s major competitions in the automotive industry.
