Mercedes-Benz and Bauhaus: timeless, modern design.

Mercedes-Benz is the main sponsor of the design exhibition entitled “The Bauhaus #itsalldesign” which started off at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany.
  • Mercedes-Benz and Bauhaus: timeless, modern design.

  • “Revolutionary trailblazer.”

“Up to know we perceive the Bauhaus approach as timeless and modern, driven by the constant desire to shape the future. And it is precisely this concentration on the essential, together with the quest for innovations, that links our design philosophy with the Bauhaus way of thinking”, says Gorden Wagener, Head of Design Daimler AG. The philosophy of sensual purity is the expression of modern luxury and seeks to create timeless designs. It combines tradition and progress, creates the perfect balance between intelligence and emotion, and is driven by the continued desire to create icons of the future.

It started in Weil am Rhein and in April you were able to visit the exhibition in the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn. The exhibition in Tel Aviv will be open from 15 October 2016 to 7 January 2017. After Tel Aviv, the exhibition will move on to the Art & Design Atomium Museum in Brussels from 17 March to 11 June 2017.

Mercedes-Benz is also actively taking part in the exhibition with its very own piece. In a video interview, Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Daimler AG, explains the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy of sensual purity, encapsulating an essential aspect of the Mercedes-Benz brand – the bipolarity comprising intelligence and emotion; and where the vehicle designers’ inspiration comes from. In addition, he also provides insights into the artistically creative design process.

“Bauhaus is one of the most influential stylistic movements and has been considered a revolutionary trailblazer in the fields of art, architecture and design.
