The Norisring is considered the Monaco of the DTM: the DTM drivers race round this tight street circuit in the German city of Nuremberg, past the legendary stone terraces of the “Steintribüne”, the Frankenstadion football stadium and the Dutzendteich lake. The race takes place on public roads, closed off purely for this occasion. The story of the Norisring began in 1947, with two-wheelers the focus of attention. It was not until 1976 that racing cars arrived on the scene. At just 2.3 km in length, the very compact course offers breathtaking racing action. In the last 11 races on the Norisring, the best-placed driver was driving a Mercedes-Benz.
