    25 years Global Logistics Center.

Global parts supply from the “Insel Gruen”.

Since its opening in 1990, the Mercedes-Benz Global Logistics Center in Germersheim in the Southern Palatinate region has been the hub for the global parts supply in Daimler AG’s after sales. The central warehouse is situated on a peninsula of the River Rhine, the “Insel Gruen”, and supplies the Group’s global wholesale locations with parts and accessories for Mercedes-Benz, smart and FUSO commercial vehicles and passenger cars. Since its opening the warehouse has been extended in several development stages, and the last construction phase  has been started in November 2014. The storage area has more than doubled in the past 25 years. Together with its external locations in Woerth, Ettlingen, Offenbach an der Queich and Hatten in France, the Global Logistics Center is the world’s largest central warehouse for vehicle parts in the automotive sector with over 1.1 million square meters of storage space and a range of over 420,000 different part numbers. The Global Logistics Center employs a workforce of around 2,800 employees.

With mobile communication systems, powerful materials handling equipment, driver-less transport systems and automated commissioning systems, each working day about 50,000 delivery note items are sent. Distrubiton is carried out via truck, ship or airplane. On average, 340 truck loads with a GVW of around 1,500 tonnes leave the Global Logistics Center on a daily basis.

OneRepublic embodies American pop rock like no other group.

There are only a few comparative bands which have such a feeling for catchy and popular songs. Whilst songwriter and front man Ryan Tedder has already been responsible for numerous hit singles by artists such as Adele, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, the band has sold over 3 million albums and 23 million singles all over the world. All three released albums, “Dreaming Out Loud”, “Waking Up”, and “Native” have achieved Platinum status. With numerous singles including “Counting Stars”, “Apologize”, “Stop And Stare”, “Secrets” and “Good Life”, they stormed to number one in the airplay charts. Their most successful album to date is “Native” and it was from this, and after the ZDF TV channel’s official Football World Cup song “Love Runs Out”, that the next hit came in 2014 – “I Lived”, which was also chosen as the official promotional song for the unveiling of the B-Class from Mercedes-Benz. Both the single “If I Lose Myself” and “Counting Stars” have clocked up the best chart positions of all the band’s singles.

In Germany the songs by OneRepublic are famous from Til Schweiger´s movies such as 'Rabbit Without Ears' ('Apologize'), 'Rabbit Without Ears 2' ('Secrets') and 'The Guardians' ('Feel Again'). Following the sold-out tour of Germany in 2013, OneRepublic last played concerts in Germany in October 2014 and is now looking forward to returning for a Mercedes-Benz event.
