Now in its third year, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi is a leading fashion week in Eastern Europe. Increasing awareness – both at home and abroad – of Georgian design, and the perfect intersection between home-grown designers and international buyers, fashion media and influencers.

The next big thing.

It is the country that spawned Vetements and Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia so all eyes are on Georgia to produce fashion’s next big thing. There are already standout stars – cult smash hit brand Mach & Mach, multi-brand designer Lado Bokuchava, the daring Gola Damian, rising star Nicolas Grigorian, the power silhouettes at George Keburia, and Situationist; the brand beloved by supers like Bella Hadid.

The Street Style Scene.

For SS18, MBFW headed to Georgia to collaborate with acclaimed street style photographer Style du Monde, who took over the @MercedesBenzFashion Instagram account for two days –

providing Instagram stories and casting her specialised lens over all the unique and inspirational fashion on the streets of Tbilisi.

To shine a further spotlight on the emerging scene, MBFW collaborated with some of the very best photographers to provide an exclusive look at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi. Joe Harper, who has worked with Vogue, Love, and Fendi, took unique backstage images whilst local Louisa Chalatashvili, the most-prominent Georgian fashion photographer, took stunning portraits of the major designers shaping fashion in Tbilisi.

Georgian designer and fashion influencer Anouki Kaladze took over the MBFW Instagram account for two days; supplying exclusive behind-the-scenes content for Instagram Stories. Kaladze is the founder of the brand Anouki: one of the most popular to emerge from Georgia. The designer is the ultimate insider, and provided a unique view of her home town.

The IDEP collaboration.

The Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program is the ultimate platform for emerging talents, enabling them to reach global audiences by showcasing their work in a new market. This year’s designer, the Turkish-born DB Berdan, showed his innovative, streetwear-inspired collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, providing a standout conclusion to the fashion week.
