    Mercedes-Benz Fashion: 2017 Round-up.

Around the world with MBFW.

Supporting a spectrum of talent spanning over 60 platforms worldwide, we look back at @mercedesbenzfashion’s activities over the past year. Amongst the platforms activated were firm favourites including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days, MBFW Amsterdam and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, which were among the 14 platforms spotlighted by MBFW.

Travelling further afield, talents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, as well as the Mercedes-Benz supported Festival Hyères, were also showcased. Read on to find out a little more about the highlights:

Championing new talent: Festival Hyères.

MBFW collaborated with online magazine Semaine and i-D France to create a short film, a road trip featuring a Mercedes-Benz Classic Car, featuring the emerging fashion talent on show at the Festival Hyères. The winner of the grand prize of the festival, Vanessa Schindler, was enlisted into the Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program, and was able to show her latest collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in 2017.

Collaborations: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

May 2017 saw MBFW on the ground at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, creating exclusive content through collaboration with cult Australian fashion publication Oyster magazine. Oyster pioneered stylists, influencers and designers who created behind-the-scenes images and videos on the MBFW Instagram channel and provided a unique insight into Sydney’s fashion scene. To compliment the collaboration, MBFW also worked with influencer and stylist Chloe Hill, who captured backstage content at shows including Dion Lee, Christopher Esber and Vale Denim in a special film series.

Local insight: Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days.

MBFW enlisted local influencers and photographers to broaden understanding and access to Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days, where IDEP designer Merel Van Glabbeek was showcasing her work as part of the programme.

Unique photographs came from fashion photographer Angelina Golt and there were Instagram takeovers on the MBFW channel from influencer Dasha Katsurina, entrepreneur Daria Shapovalova and designer Anna October.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion 2017 Round-Up: Amber Valletta.

Launching the #mbcollective: London, Berlin and Milan.

In 2017, Mercedes-Benz launched the #mbcollective; a group of inspiring designers, trendsetters and influencers who will only further highlight MBFW’s engagement with the industry. Three chapters of the Fashion Story were launched; Chapter One with M.I.A and Tommy Genesis in London, and Chapters Two and Three with Susan Sarandon and Bryn Mooser and Amber Valletta and her son Auden McCaw respectively, with events during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Milan Fashion Week.

Collaborations: New York Fashion Week.

One of the premier events in the fashion calendar, MBFW cemented off-schedule New York Fashion week coverage with social media collaborations from PussPuss Magazine and Fashion Editor Heather Mary Jackson and with high profile creative projects with one of the world’s leading fashion influencers: Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine.
