Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul 2018.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion headed to Istanbul in September to explore the Spring/Summer collections from the Turkish harbour city. The platform highlighted Turkey’s rich fashion heritage with fresh interpretations of classic designs. Throughout the week, the designers presented collections celebrating self-expression and individuality.

With over 30 shows presented at the modernist Zorlu Performance Art Centre Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul continued the Mercedes-Benz commitment to championing emerging designers.

An exchange: Ani Datukishvili.

As part of the Mercedes-Benz International Design Exchange Program, Georgian designer Ani Datukishvili presented her collection in Istanbul. Inspired by the fantasies of Chinese art and the swinging 60s, dresses featured refined florals. Skilful tailoring, often seen at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, was given a playful update with silver sequins.

Local style: Mercedes-Benz Presents Brand Who.

The second Mercedes-Benz supported show saw Mercedes-Benz Presents Brand Who. A modern, urban and creative menswear line, Brand Who’s latest “Sunseeker” collection paid homage to colour and light. Combining a breezy beach style with their “wear and share” ethos, it overturns stereotypes and redefines wearable fashion.

A celebration of style and creativity.

This season, Mercedes-Benz Fashion collaborated with Istanbul-based influencer Polina Chursanova. The it-girl’s unique style takes cues from laid-back stateside looks. Polina’s relaxed take on fashion is highlighted in her creative blog, The Vibes.

Polina captured the local burgeoning art scene and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul’s celebration of the creativity of local designers, including the likes of Mehtap Elaidi, Sebnem Gunay and Meltem Ozbek. Characterised by a playful approach, fresh interpretations of classic styles featured throughout the much-awaited collections.
