Jens Lehmann: The football pro.
A professional through and through – not in just one but in several professions. Jens Lehmann’s résumé combines various careers: while initially running in parallel, they now complement each other perfectly. Alongside his extraordinary career as a goalkeeper with various German and European football clubs, Lehmann also studied economics in keeping with his creed that “education never hurts.” He may also have divided the football community on the pitch as a strong personality who always had his eye on the big picture. His dazzling performance – as a goalkeeper with lightning reflexes – during numerous excruciatingly tense penalty shoot-outs remains legendary. Since retiring from professional football in 2011 the former German national team goalkeeper has since acquired a full license as a trainer, and is also a sought-after moderator and motivator. He is seen as a role model far beyond the world of football, and passionately shares his wide-ranging experience with people from all walks of life. The Mercedes-Benz ambassador knows how to overcome crisis situations, how to motivate himself and others, and that one must constantly fight for success.
Jens Lehmann brings his outstanding expertise and charisma to bear in his work with several foundations for children and adolescents, and is a highly enthusiastic patron of the Laureus Foundation’s “Kicking Girls”, a project that aims to integrate girls into sport and society.
