The DTM staged races three and four this weekend at the Lausitzring in front of 60,000 spectators. Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella (PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) placed sixth in this home race for Mücke, his Mercedes-AMG DTM team. Last year, Juncadella achieved fourth place at the Lausitzring which is his best result so far in the DTM. Christian Vietoris (Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) in seventh place also finished in the top 8. Last year’s winner, Pascal Wehrlein (gooix Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) crossed the line in 14th place. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM), Maximilian Götz (Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) and Robert Wickens (SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) finished 16th, 17th and 18th respectively. Austrian driver Lucas Auer (BWT Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) retired ten minutes before the end.
2005 DTM champion Gary Paffett (EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Gary Paffett ended Sunday’s race in Hockenheim on the podium. At the Lausitzring, though, he had to retire his car to the pits with gearbox problems during the initial stages of the race.
