    The DTM will guest this weekend at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands to contest the penultimate race of the season. The DTM has been contested 13 times so far at Zandvoort’s dune circuit since its debut in 2001. The track is 4.307 km in length and consists of nine right-hand turns and four left-handers. The race is staged over 44 laps, equivalent to an overall distance of 189.508 km.

    First Formula 1 test for Pascal Wehrlein.

    Pascal Wehrlein had a fantastic seven days around the last DTM race at the Lausitzring. On the Thursday, he tested a Formula 1 car for the first time in Portimão, secured his first DTM pole on the Saturday, became the youngest winner ever in the DTM on Sunday and on Monday was named as a Formula 1 reserve driver with MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS. Wehrlein: “For me, it’s a dream come true to have completed this test and to now take on my new role. All my life, I’ve worked hard to get the opportunity to drive an F1 car. And it was always my goal to do it with Mercedes-Benz.”

    Wehrlein continued: “I’ve had an exciting couple of weeks. My first DTM victory, my first Formula 1 test and my appointment as reserve driver for MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS, I don’t know which particular highlight to put first. Now, however, I must focus fully on the upcoming DTM race in Zandvoort. I know the track from my time in the Formula 3 Euro Series and have already achieved two podiums there. The dunes circuit is a natural terrain track with some challenging corner combinations. It’s very much uphill and downhill, which makes it thrilling for us as drivers but also makes the circuit very difficult.”

    Christian Vietoris is second in the DTM drivers' standings on 59 points.

    Robert Wickens will be contesting his 30th DTM race in Zandvoort.

    Robert Wickens: “After my top-five finish at the Lausitzring, I’m hoping to score good points again in Zandvoort. It’s a fun track, a very challenging track and the weather is very inconsistent. I don’t really know what to expect, but if I can leave with points, it would be a very good accomplishment by the team. It would be three races in a row where I scored points. It would be nice to finish off the season on a high note.”

    Robert Wickens will be contesting his 30th DTM race in Zandvoort.

    Robert Wickens: “After my top-five finish at the Lausitzring, I’m hoping to score good points again in Zandvoort. It’s a fun track, a very challenging track and the weather is very inconsistent. I don’t really know what to expect, but if I can leave with points, it would be a very good accomplishment by the team. It would be three races in a row where I scored points. It would be nice to finish off the season on a high note.”

    Paul Di Resta secured a podium during his 2010 championship season in Zandvoort.

    Paul Di Resta: 'Zandvoort is a track where we all enjoy driving and putting the car through its paces. Hopefully, the bad luck is gone. We had a difficult weekend at the Lausitzring but with very good speed.

    I'm eager to get some points and, hopefully, race at the front end of the grid.'

    Daniel Juncadella took wins at Zandvoort during 2012 in the Formula 3 Masters and in the Formula 3 Euro series.

    Daniel Juncadella: “I achieved my best result of the season last time out at the Lausitzring. Even more would have been possible in different circumstances, so from that perspective, I’m heading to the race weekend in Zandvoort with fresh momentum. I’ve got some good memories of the track, including, winning the Formula 3 Masters there during the 2012 season. The wind plays a key role at the dune circuit, but the fluid and varied track is a real treat for us drivers.”

    Gary Paffett has won three times in Zandvoort.

    Gary Paffett : “I really like the Zandvoort circuit. I look forward to going there every year. It’s a fun circuit to drive and I’ve won there a few times in the past. As far as expectations are concerned, it’s not easy to say where we are going to be. Obviously, we’re hoping to be able to get in the mix of scoring points. If we can get a better result, then that would be good. But Zandvoort is certainly going to be one of the harder circuits for us. I think we shouldn’t be expecting to have the same pace as at the Lausitzring.”

    Vitaly Petrov is lining up with the DTM for the first time in Zandvoort.

    Vitaly Petrov: “The previous race weekend at the Lausitzring showed that we are on the right track. Whilst I’ve still got a lot to learn, progress was apparent in the last race. Zandvoort is a very taxing circuit with challenging uphill and downhill sections. We must look out in particular for the sand blown in on the wind, which can make the tarmac very slippery. This promises to be an exciting weekend for me as a driver and for the fans in the stands.”

    Vitaly Petrov is lining up with the DTM for the first time in Zandvoort.

    Vitaly Petrov: “The previous race weekend at the Lausitzring showed that we are on the right track. Whilst I’ve still got a lot to learn, progress was apparent in the last race. Zandvoort is a very taxing circuit with challenging uphill and downhill sections. We must look out in particular for the sand blown in on the wind, which can make the tarmac very slippery. This promises to be an exciting weekend for me as a driver and for the fans in the stands.”

    Toto Wolff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport: “The one-two victory in the last race at the Lausitzring was a fantastic result for Pascal, Christian and our entire team. Races in Oschersleben, at the Norisring and in the Lausitz have shown, however, that our team are able to make the most of the situation and to come up with a good strategy in difficult conditions. These results and our upward trend in recent weeks are a just reward for the hard work that the guys have put in since the beginning of the season. Zandvoort this weekend will present another tough challenge that we intend to meet head on and overcome together as best we can. In contrast to the Lausitzring, the track characteristics at Zandvoort don’t really suit our car. But as always, we’ll be trying to get the maximum out of our package.”
