Mercedes-Benz: Global Sponsor of the Masters in Augusta.

Mercedes-Benz has a special role at the tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club. Several of the Global Sponsor’s Brand Ambassadors will be teeing off in Georgia.

The world’s best players at the first Major.

From 7-10 April the world’s best players will tee off at the Augusta National Golf Club to contest the first Major of 2016. Demonstrating the integral role of Mercedes-Benz, Global Sponsor of the Masters Tournament, the field includes Brand Ambassadors from across the generations: Bernhard Langer, who returns for his 33rd Masters Tournament, Martin Kaymer in action for his 9th and Rickie Fowler for the 6th time. Fellow ambassadors Emiliano Grillo and Fabian Gomez will also play their debut rounds on the famous Georgia course. When Langer tees off on Thursday for his 111th competitive round at the Augusta National Golf Club – more than any other European golfer – he will play with the wisdom and conviction that comes with being a former winner of the iconic Green Jacket.

The two-time Masters Champion said: “The Masters is a fantastic tournament at a great venue and I enjoy going back each year. It is a unique place”.

Meanwhile Mercedes-Benz Argentina Brand Ambassadors Emiliano Grillo and Fabian Gomez will embrace the unique challenge of a maiden visit to the legendary venue. “There are no words to explain the feeling I have ahead of playing in Augusta. Being invited to play was the greatest moment of my career. It means everything”, said Grillo, who secured an invite following his first PGA TOUR win. Martin Kaymer will be making his 9th Masters appearance while Mercedes-Benz USA Brand Ambassador Rickie Fowler will be looking to maintain his excellent recent form. The Californian enjoyed his best Masters finish in 2014, when he finished T5. “Mercedes-Benz is driven to support the world’s best tournaments as a partner. We are proud to have ambassadors across generations playing in the 80th Masters tournament, the most prestigious golf tournament in the world”, said Dr Jens Thiemer, Vice President Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars. “The Tournament holds a unique position in the world of sport and we are delighted to partner with The Masters for the ninth year”.

Exclusive shuttle service by Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz will provide all players and selected guests of the Augusta National Golf Club with an exclusive vehicle service for the week of the Tournament. The Brand Ambassadors will be on the road in Mercedes-Benz SUVs, and the vehicle fleet is also equipped with the GL and S-Class Cabriolet. Traditionally, Mercedes-Benz customers from around the world interact with the Brand Ambassadors at exclusive meet & greet sessions. But Mercedes-Benz’s role at the 2016 Masters Tournament goes far beyond the breadth of the ambassadors in the field. All customers will be given a demonstration of the S-Class Cabriolet, C-Class Coupé and SUVs such as the G 500 during tournament week.
