Ryder Cup.

From 27 September to 2 October the twelve best players from each team competed at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota in what is probably the most famous competition in golfing.

Official Patron of the PGA of America.

“The Ryder Cup has a unique status in the sport of golf. Every player from Europe and the USA dreams of being one of the twelve golfers who wins for his country or his continent on Sunday,” says Dr. Jens Thiemer, Vice President Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars. “With Rickie Fowler and Martin Kaymer as Mercedes‑Benz brand ambassadors and as a proud partner of the Ryder Cup 2016, we also give our best.”

Mercedes-Benz continued as “Official Patron of the PGA of America” and “Official Vehicle of the Ryder Cup”, provided a fleet of S-Classes and GLS to transport players, caddies, managers, hospitality guests and tournament VIPs throughout Championship week.

The Mini-Golf-Challenge.

The Mini-Golf-Challenge returned after its successful premiere at the PGA Championship with one lucky winner. In the Mercedes-Benz Performance Center, fans had the opportunity to test their putting on a unique three-hole miniature golf course. The prize for a hole in one at all three holes was a brandnew Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Throughout the Ryder Cup, golf and automotive fans had access to exclusive video content and images at Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Fans also joined the conversation across social media channels using the hashtags #PerfectDrive and #MBGolf. Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador Bernhard Langer shared his extensive Ryder Cup knowledge and experience by assessing the tournament in a film that was released the day after the Ryder Cup.

In addition, Mercedes-Benz USA had started a campaign to support its team: #WeAre13 in allusion to the 13th Man – the Fans. It was well worth taking part. There were tickets for the Ryder Cup to be won.

Partnership with the PGA of America.

Mercedes-Benz has been active in the sport of professional golf since the 1980s. Between 2008 and 2013, Mercedes-Benz was the “International Partner” of the most prestigious golf tournament in the world, the Masters in Augusta, and since 2014 Mercedes-Benz is one of the three “Global Sponsors”.

As a result of its partnership with the PGA of America, the brand with the three-pointed star has been the “Official Vehicle” and “Official Patron” of the PGA Championship, the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup when it is held in the United States since 2009. In 2011, through a partnership with The Open, Mercedes-Benz further expanded its golf activities to become an “Official Car” and “Official Patron” of the oldest but most innovative golf Championship in the world. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz supports a wide variety of amateur and professional tournaments at the national level.
