Steep descents, sharp bends. At the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team’s training camp in Mallorca, the coastline of mountains, valleys and twisting roads requires flexibility and performance without compromising safety. The triathletes have to contend with constantly changing conditions of water, wind and tarmac. So now one of Germany’s most successful triathlon teams is forming a powerful partnership with Mercedes-Benz. With the V-Class as their team vehicle, the athletes can prove their versatility in the disciplines of swimming, cycling and running beyond all doubt. The V-Class combines space and functionality with comfort, driving pleasure and safety. With its powerful and muscular appearance, it symbolises both the team itself and the sport of triathlon.

At their training camp in Mallorca, the team's training and competition equipment can be stowed quickly and easily in the V-Class.

Because in the ultimate endurance sport, the ability to keep going under the most testing conditions can be the difference between winning and losing.

These five top athletes – Timo Bracht, Jan Raphael, Horst Reichel, Georg Potrebitsch and Niclas Bock – have had the Mercedes-Benz star on their time-trial helmets at over 30 triathlon competitions worldwide.

The five top athletes of the POWER HORSE Triathlon Team have had the Mercedes-Benz star on the front of their time-trial helmets at over 30 triathlon competitions worldwide. As well as father of two and eight times IRONMAN Champion Timo Bracht, the team is made up of reigning IRONMAN Vice Champion Jan Raphael, IRONMAN 70.3 Champion Horst Reichel, German Long Distance Champion 2011 Georg Potrebitsch and newcomer Niclas Bock. They are delighted to welcome the V-Class as a member of their team because, like the athletes themselves, it’s a top performer, thanks in part to its 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with two-stage turbocharging. The top model in the range, the V 250 BlueTEC, commands 140 kW (190hp) and does 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds.

Low resistance to water and wind are vital for reaching personal best.

In order to achieve personal best, air resistance has to be reduced and power used efficiently. That applies as much to cycling, which requires excellent aerodynamics, as to the superb efficiency of the V-Class that makes it the most aerodynamic vehicle in its category.

The POWER HORSE triathletes will now line up as favourites at a wide range of top events and, together with Mercedes-Benz, reach for the stars.
