In September 2013 the biggest commercial vehicle trade fair in Eastern Europe took place in Moscow – The Comtrans 2013 This trade fair is meanwhile positioned between the commercial vehicle IAA’s, being considered as the second largest commercial vehicle trade fair in Europe. After eleven years we took the opportunity to feature once again a trade fair with our own booth. “Not too big, but present” is our slogan: at the joint booth of the German industry we were present with a booth space of about 30 sqm. With our exhibit, an OM457/460 engine – a real eye catcher, we could show what we are made of. The cutaway model fascinated a lot of visitors and made it possible to take a look inside the engine. Thanks to all customers and visitors!

Mercedes-Benz Engines Rank High in Heavy-Duty Truck Engine and Transmission Study (WORK TRUCK magazine):
'We are pleased with the results of this recent J.D. Power and Associates study and award. Considering the engines included in this survey are entirely comprised of our legacy models, like the MBE4000, we feel that our customers can expect even better performance and support from our new lineup of engines - the DD13, DD15, and soon to be launched DD16. Our new engines are proving to be industry benchmarks for efficiency, reliability and power,' said Amanda Phillips, manager, product marketing for Detroit Diesel who distributes Mercedes-Benz engines in the U.S.
The new Econic: Innovative, efficient, ergonomic and environmentally acceptable (media.daimler.com):
'Up to four percent savings in fuel consumption: Just as with its volume-manufactured opposite numbers from Atego to Actros, Mercedes-Benz has also succeeded with the technological feat of using less fuel despite the greater energy and costs needed for cleaning the exhaust gas. Up to four percent fuel savings and up to 40 percent less AdBlue is the result. With its greater reliability and longer service intervals the repair and maintenance costs are also reduced, making the Econic more cost-effective than ever. Two six-cylinder, 7.7 l OM 936 LA engines are used in the Econic with a basic output of 220 kW (299 hp) and a peak performance of 260 kW (354 hp). The new in-line engines deserve best marks in their class straightaway for all aspects. Construction features such as the cam shaft with shrunk on cam, forged and bolted conrod as well as a crankshaft designed for the greatest rigidity make it quite clear: these engines have been designed for a long, successful and efficient working life.'
Mercedes-Benz buses and coaches are the leaders in innovation and technology (media.daimler.com):
'New assistance systems improve the level of safety: A wealth of new assistance systems helps to prevent accidents: Crosswind Assist, Proximity Warning Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Highbeam Assist, as well as Lane Keeping Assist. Depending on the model, gross vehicle weight and variant, these are also available for the Mercedes-Benz minibuses to further enhance their exemplary and unrivalled level of safety. The driver will also welcome the new, high-grip steering wheel and a seat with new upholstery. The same applies to the new radio generation with numerous different input ports, a telephone keypad and directory, as well as the new Becker Map Pilot navigation system with inconspicuous installation in the glove compartment and a removable navigation module.'
