Experience Mercedes-Benz at the IAA Cars 2015.
Gazing at new stars.
The IAA Cars 2015 is an event not to be missed when it opens on 17 September. Mercedes-Benz will be presenting a show in a class of its own for all fans of the brand with the three-pointed star. Over 100 vehicles will be on show in more than 9,000 square metres of exhibition space, including many new products. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé and Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet world premieres are the highlights of the “Mercedes Dream Car Collection” at the IAA in Frankfurt. The defining feature of the appearance by Mercedes-Benz Cars, traditionally located in the Festival Hall directly at the main entrance to the exhibition site, is the “Silver Flow” – a dynamically shaped large-scale sculpture consisting of silver slats.
Athletic: the new C-Class Coupé.
With the exciting new C-Class Coupé Mercedes-Benz is extending its successful C-Class family. Athletic and sporty with every fibre, the clear yet sensuous design of the new coupé adds progressive highlights to the cityscape. A sportily configured chassis, with optional air suspension, forms the basis for an exemplary level of suspension comfort, low road roar and tyre vibration, light, agile handling, and impressive driving pleasure. In sum, the new C-Class Coupé has grown up thanks to its high perceived quality and generous interior, yet still radiates youthfully dynamic charm. Also celebrating its world premiere is the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé.

Mercedes-Benz has also increased the range of available engines. And with its dramatic design in the style of the successful MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, the special “Motorsport Edition” model will appeal to racing fans in particular. After extensive updating, the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC now guarantees even more emotional appeal and driving pleasure. With a peak output of 280 kW (381 hp) and maximum torque of 475 newton metres, the turbocharged AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine once again comes top in the competitive line-up. Two cars in one: the “Concept IAA”.
The Mercedes-Benz “Concept IAA” (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile) switches automatically from design mode to aerodynamic mode when the vehicle reaches a speed of 80 km/h, whereby numerous aerodynamics measures alter the shape of the vehicle. For this reason the study is two cars in one: an aerodynamics world champion with a Cd value of 0.19 and a four-door coupé embodying irresistible design.
Inside, the “Concept IAA” continues the design line of the S-Class and S-Class Coupé, offers new touch-based functions and provides an idea of what the interior of a business saloon might look like in the near future.
Fascinating brand worlds.
Even on entering the Festival Hall, visitors experience the multifaceted nature of the Mercedes-Benz brand worlds showcased there. An escalator in the open central room takes visitors from the live stage to a height of 13 metres. The themed rooms along the route are architecturally varied: from the character of a pit lane at Mercedes-AMG and through the cosy atmosphere at Mercedes me to the luxurious spaciousness beneath the dome at Mercedes-Maybach. The balustrades in the central room offer seats and areas for standing as in a stadium, for whiling away the time with exciting views of the “Mercedes live” stage show. The entire route is accompanied by the sculptural “Silver Flow”. The “Silver Flow” comprises over 400 individual slats which, arranged next to each other, add up to a length of over two kilometres. “My Guide”, the interactive travel guide from Mercedes me, can be experienced in many places in Frankfurt during the IAA and thus forms part of the IAA’s innovative fringe programme.
