The unknown side of Crete.

Narrow mountain roads, snow-covered valleys and kilometre-high peaks: Although a familiar image in the Alps and other European mountain regions, it is a surprising sight on the Greek Mediterranean island of Crete. In addition to beautiful beaches, scented olive groves and antique archaeological sites, the island also boasts largely undiscovered winter attractions. A chain of mountains rises high above the picturesque coast, among them the peaks of the Lefka Ori mountains. At a height of 2,452 metres, the snow remains until early spring. Five employees from the outdoor brand DYNAFIT set out on an adventure to discover this largely unknown world.

The winter athletes travel around 50 kilometres, ascend to 4,000 metres, overcome icy roads and steep inclines. Long descents on corn snow await the winter athletes at the end of their journey. Their loyal companion: the V-Class.

Space for demanding technology.

The DYNAFIT outdoor brand specializes in equipment for ambitious mountain climbers and winter athletes. The brand uses journeys like these to test new products under real conditions. This makes the group’s V-Class a truly practical companion. It provides plenty of space for their equipment and also transports the athletes safely through the trees and mountains.

Off to the sea with the V-Class.

After their ski run, the group travels back down the mountains to the coast. The peaks gradually disappear out of view through the V-Class’s panorama roof. The altitude decreases, the temperature rises and the group quickly passes below the snow line. This is where the island’s fertile regions begin. Rich green fields and vast olive groves sweep past the windows and the five women enjoy the comfortable view. Crete’s diverse flora creates a striking contrast to the seemingly uninhabited landscape. There is no traffic to hinder the group’s journey.

From the snow to the beach.

Crete’s beaches are the island’s familiar face. Palm trees decorate long streets and the climate turns Mediterranean again. The V-Class brings the five athletes to the harbour in Chania, where their journey ends. They take the opportunity to go for a final walk along the beach and even take a brief swim in the Mediterranean despite the fresh spring temperatures.
