The new V-Class – The successful model even more attractive.

Re-styled, striking front-end design.

The new V-Class builds upon the core values of the MPV: Now, its presence in XXL format is even more stylish and dynamic. Focal points include a re-styled and striking front-end design, as well as the introduction of the OM 654 four-cylinder diesel engine generation – with the V 300 d reaching the new top value of 176 kW/239 PS – plus safety and assistance systems up to the latest technological level.

V 300 d:
Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 6,1–5,9 l/100 km;
CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 161–155 g/km.1

Dynamic presence in XXL format.

“With the introduction of the V-Class five years ago, we showed that a stylish and dynamic presence is also possible in XXL format. In doing so, we were able to convince families, leisure adventurers and business customers alike – from Europe right across to Asia. Proof of this can be found in the 209,000 or so V-Class units that have been sold since its market launch as well as in the fact that the vehicle has one of the youngest buyer groups across Mercedes-Benz. At the beginning of 2019, we’ll be continuing this success story. With the facelift, we’re building on the strengths of our MPV in a targeted manner. And we’ll soon also make the next statement in this segment by expanding our portfolio with a fully electric MPV,” says Wilfried Porth, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG; Human Resources and Director of Labor Relations, Mercedes-Benz Vans.

New design and even greater comfort.

A stronger visual presence and broader appearance comes of a new bumper design with striking cooling air inlets and a new diamond structure in the radiator grille. The Mercedes star is positioned centrally in the radiator grille and framed by two slats in silver. New paint colours in graphite grey metallic and selenite grey metallic expand the palette of popular black and white tones. Equally new is the optional paint colour steel blue. With the new colour hyacinth red metallic, the new V-Class makes an especially emotive statement. The interior follows the trend of modernity and clarity. The facelifted Mercedes-Benz MPV presents itself with new air vents in a more sporty turbine look as well as new dials in the instrument cluster.

The new upholstery and equipment colour tartufo nappa leather makes a modern and elegant statement. Modern and elegant can also be used to describe the new trim element in twin-stripe look which is used on the instrument panel and in the side paneling. Comfort is an obligation in the MPV segment. With the facelift, passengers in the first rear row can now enjoy luxury seats with a reclining function, a back massage function and climatisation. Passengers can choose from three different massage intensities and three climatisation stages. A trip in the new V-Class – for instance, when used as a VIP shuttle – thus almost turns into a spa treatment after a stressful flight or business meeting.

V 250 d: Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 6,1–5,9 l/100 km; CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 161–155 g/km.1

V 220 d: Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 6,2–6,0 l/100 km; CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 162–157 g/km.1

New engine, new transmission.

The new V-Class is equipped with the four-cylinder OM 654 diesel engine in three output variants: V 220 d with 120 kW/163 PS and 380 Nm torque, V 250 d with 140 kW/190 PS and 440 Nm torque as well as V 300 d with 176 kW/239 PS and 500 Nm torque. The latter sets the benchmark in the MPV segment. The new engine generation is even more efficient and clean and offers further improved noise and vibration characteristics. It is pleasantly quiet inside the vehicle and annoying vibrations have been reduced. The facelift also sees the V-Class equipped with the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission for the first time. The particularly comfortable and efficient converter automatic transmission is available as standard for the V 300 d and V 250 d. It is optionally available for the V 220 d.

Even safer.

For the first time ever, the V-Class can be ordered with Active Brake Assist. It can detect when there is a risk of collision with a vehicle ahead and gives an initial visual and acoustic signal. If the driver reacts, the Active Brake Assist builds up braking pressure adequate to the situation. If there is no reaction, the system actively supports evasion and braking maneuvers. In urban traffic, the Active Brake Assist can also react to stationary obstacles or pedestrians crossing.

Highbeam Assist Plus available for the first time.

Another new safety feature is the optional Highbeam Assist Plus. In main-beam mode, Highbeam Assist Plus supports the driver with a permanent, broad illumination of the roadway. In the event of vehicles in front or oncoming traffic, the LEDs of the main-beam module are partially deactivated and thus create a U-shaped cut-out in the cone of light. The remaining areas of the roadway continue to be illuminated with the main-beam headlamps (partial main beam).

Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON benefit.

Further safety and assistance systems in the new Mercedes-Benz MPV include: Driving Assistance Package with Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist and the preventive occupant protection system PRE-SAFE®, the Lane Tracking package comprising Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist with reversing camera and Active Parking Assist with 360° camera, which make searching for a parking space easier, and also manoeuvring into and out of end-on and parallel parking spaces, and Traffic Sign Assist which points out signposted speed restrictions as well as no-entry and no-overtaking restrictions detected by the system.

The compact Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON travel and leisure vans also benefit from the full scope of the innovations implemented on the V-Class.
