The emergency vehicles arrive only a few minutes later: two fire trucks and a command vehicle from the fire service, two ambulances with emergency doctors along with a police vehicle. The big turnout that night saves lives: the fire is extinguished and the rescue services are relieved to report: “The family in the apartment on fire is uninjured!” Nevertheless, an ambulance takes them to the hospital for monitoring overnight. Emergency services rely on Mercedes-Benz special vehicles and rescue vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz vans Citan, Vito and Sprinter serve as the reliable basis for special conversions, bodies and modifications. All year round, these special vehicles and emergency vehicles keep on working regardless of the weather: they serve as workshop vehicles, rail vehicles and taxis. On the road day and night with the fire service, police, emergency doctors and as ambulances. They support the mountain rescue or technical relief services. They are there to help in many different scenarios: at the airport, the Citan serves as a follow-me vehicle; as a command vehicle for the fire service – a Citan converted into a workshop vehicle by Gruau; or the Sprinter advance fire engine from Rosenbauer for the company fire brigade.
The Mercedes-Benz Citan from Mosolf is on the road for the police with special decal films, a customised signalling system and pressure chamber loudspeakers. Also in police service: the Mercedes-Benz Vito as a radio control vehicle or the Sprinter as a police van. The vehicles are also lifesavers: such as the “Rescube” emergency vehicle with a stretcher from Binz Ambulance, the rescue vehicle with a patient compartment from Ambulanz Mobile or with a patient area in the box body from WAS. These are all based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The Mercedes-Benz Vito modification from Gruau also provides space for a stretcher.
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter can represent more freedom for people with restricted mobility. Wheelchair passengers can safely enter the modified variant via a lift from Paravan. The Sprinter adapts to its users’ needs and can be modified for specific limitations. The smaller Mercedes-Benz Vito also offers a diverse range of modifications for people with mobility restrictions. Providing them with safe and independent mobility.
