The Sprinter - the pioneer among vans. Vehicles

The Sprinter from Mercedes-Benz is the founder of its own segment and sets standards in terms of reliability, efficiency and versatility.

The Sprinter has set standards since 1995.

It has given a whole vehicle class a name - the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is the synonym for large vans around the 3.5 to 5.5 tonne class worldwide. The largest van from Mercedes-Benz is a model of reliability, efficiency, economy and versatility. With its five safety systems, efficient and powerful engines and a distinctive and self-confident look, the Sprinter has set standards since its introduction in 1995. The van has always been the pioneer and innovator of its class. But above all, with exceptionally low fuel consumption values of up to 6.3 l / 100 km, it is by far the top of its class in fuel consumption.

Top of its class with the most variants.

The Sprinter stands for flexibility. It adapts to both the day-to-day work and the specific requirements of its driver. Whether it's a panel van, crewbus or pickup, whether it is a normal frame or a low-frame chassis, the Sprinter sets things in motion. With four body lengths, three wheelbases, three roof heights, two load heights, a variety of engine variants and numerous special equipment elements, the right variant can be found for every requirement.

Versatility is at the heart of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Two diesel engines with a total of four power ratings meet Euro 5b + and Euro VI, a Euro VI petrol engine, monovalent and bivalent petrol, manual and automatic transmissions, a variety of body, weight and rear axle versions - all of which add up to several thousand variants.

An unmistakable appearance.

The sprinter is immediately recognisable. The brand-specific radiator grill not only gives the van with the star more dynamic, it also it also increases air flow and stands for strength and self-confidence. The sharp headlamps and the striking housing of the reflectors give the Sprinter its unmistakable appearance.

Innovative interior, which enhances concentration.

The functional and elegant design continues in the interior. Advanced seat upholstery and a new cover increase comfort. The steering wheel has a thicker rim making it easier to hold. The ergonomically adapted seat position supports wellbeing over longer distances. When changing drivers, the steering wheel position can be adjusted quickly and easily. The gear knob is placed ergonomically in the center console and saves valuable space in the driver's cab, so too, of course with the automatic version

Success needs a strong drive.

Cutting edge engines also contribute to the Sprinter's overall economic efficiency, as well as the reliable quality and solid resale value. With the advanced four-cylinder OM 651 diesel engine in three power ratings and the powerful V6 diesel engine OM 642, the Sprinter sets standards in terms of economic efficiency and sustainability. The OM 651 with Euro VI and the BlueEFFICIENCY package plus can reach a fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100 km - the top value in the Sprinter class.

Always the right transmission.

The Sprinter can be equipped with various transmissions, depending on the application and the required driving comfort: The manual and the two automatic transmissions are perfectly matched to the respective engine and drive variants. As standard the sprinter has an easy to use ECO Gear six-speed manual transmission, which is especially designed for use in vans. Due to the wide gear ratio spread, the engine runs at an optimum speed range in every driving situation, thus reducing fuel consumption. Depending on the engine and the drive, two automatic transmissions are available: the seven-speed automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC PLUS and the five-speed automatic transmission.

Drives which bring you forward.

Whether on wet roads or towing trailers - the rear wheel drive of the Sprinter 4x2 provides quiet, confident tractive power, which is especially noticeable due to reduced effect on the steering wheel - even on mountain roads and with a full load. Not just off-road is the Sprinter 4x4 the clear favorite. The Sprinter 4x4 can master extreme challenges even in adverse conditions with the optional four-wheel drive, with increased traction, improved driving stability and the latest generation of ADAPTIVE ESP. The Electronic Traction System 4ETS automatically and individually brakes spinning wheels, thereby improving traction. The engageable four-wheel drive transmits the engine power to all four wheels at the same time at a ratio of 35:65 to the front and rear axle.

The spacious companion for every situation.

The Sprinter is open to almost anything that makes day-to-day work easier. It can also be loaded down: in the weight variant 5,500 kg the payload capacity is more than 3,000 kg. The up to 17 m3 cargo compartment of the van can be filled from three sides as required. And if you have a crew, it can do that too: Nine people can comfortably sit in the Sprinter and even up to seven euro pallets can be loaded in the van.

Safety through first-class assistance.

The safety equipment and assistance systems of the Sprinter raise the already exemplary safety to an even higher level. The Sprinter is the first van to have Crosswind Assist as standard. Further innovative assistance systems such as COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST, Blind Spot Assist, Highbeam Assist and Lane Keeping Assist ensure not only a relaxed, but also a safe journey.

Equipped for every driving situation.

The Adaptive Brake Light increases active safety, as it warns vehicles behind by flashing rapidly in the event of sharp braking. Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime driving lights and cornering lights provide an even clearer view of the road. With their automatic headlamp range adjustment they evenly illuminate the road - without dazzling oncoming traffic. In addition, wide-angle mirrors, reversing camera and rain sensor ensure greater safety.

Storm tested with Crosswind Assist.

Crosswind Assist is one of five new systems that has pushed the Sprinter into a completely new dimension of safety technology in the van segment last year. Its sensors detect sudden, strong gusts of wind which can act on the side of the vehicle - be it on a bridge or when overtaking a truck. The vehicle's speed, load and the driver's steering behavior are also part of the system's response. A brake intervention via ESP on the wheels on the side facing the wind counteracts any dangerous drifting off-course. The extent of countersteering is significantly reduced. This markedly reduces the strain on the driver.

Focus on the essentials.

Another successful synthesis of form and function is the optionally available instrument cluster with pixel matrix display. Its easy-to-read functions mean less distraction while on the move. Thus, the driver can devote all his attention to the road. The four pairs of steering wheel buttons can be used to access and adjust on-board computer functions, radio volume, telephone and ASSYST.

These functions can be operated while keeping both hands on the steering wheel. This way you can keep your eyes on the road at all times. More comfort, more safety.

The very special Sprinter models.

The special model Sprinter WORKER is available as a panel van, flat bed as well as flat bed with a double cab. The functional equipment includes fittings for radio, twin co-driver's seat and trailer stabilisation. The WORKER is specifically tailored to the needs of service providers, skilled trade and businesses.
