Born on June 27th 1985 in Wiesbaden, Nico Rosberg, son of Finnish Formula 1 World Champion Keke Rosberg, had motor racing in his DNA right from birth. He gained his first experience in karting when just six years old. By the time he was 16, he had fought his way up to the highest echelon of kart racing, the international Formula Super A. In 2002, his huge talent earned him a Formula BMW cockpit, racing for Team Rosberg, his father's outfit. Nico proved that he had not been given the drive simply by virtue of his name when he won the championship. That same year, he was rewarded for his achievements with his first Formula 1 test for the Williams F1 team. Aged 17, he was, at the time, the youngest driver ever to get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 racing car.
