Mercedes-Benz Ex-Factory Driving Aids

Individual mobility determines independence and quality of life – being able to participate in an active social life. This is something that should be taken as a given for people with physical disabilities, too. For this reason, Mercedes-Benz offers an extensive portfolio of driving aids for a range of physical disabilities. Whether the customer needs a spinner knob for the steering wheel, pedal extensions, or customized seats – with our driving aids, we address the needs of drivers with restricted mobility in a targeted way.

Aiding the mobility of people with physical disabilities

The Mercedes-Benz ex-factory driving aids project was initiated in 2008 as a Business Innovation initiative in partnership with the sales organization Mercedes-Benz Germany, and was launched in the market in 2010. Today, these products are available in over 150 markets around the world. The product portfolio is also being consistently developed and expanded in line with customer requirements. New series are presented with optional driving aids at the time of their market launch.

All of our driving aids and special features are available directly ex-factory and can be ordered for almost all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLA-Class, GLK-Class, CLS-Class, SLK-Class and S-Class. The full Mercedes-Benz guarantee applies to all driving aids and special features installed ex-factory.

The range is aimed at people with paraplegia or tetraplegia, amputees, people who have suffered a stroke, people with muscular atrophy or dystrophy, people with MS and anyone with locomotive disabilities or limited mobility.

At Mercedes-Benz, we want to pave the way for everyone to enjoy the full independence associated with mobility, and to make driving pleasure something that anyone can experience. Whether as a driver or a passenger, we want everyone to reach their destination in safety and comfort.
