We want to keep you safe.

We want to keep you safe.

Safety and trust are matters of the heart for us at Mercedes-Benz. However, the safety systems of our vehicles cant protect our family and friends from the current health situation. To #flattenthecurve we have to do more. That is why we have decided to temporarily suspend most production and work in selected administrative areas in Europe for an initial period of two weeks. To stay safe, please try to stay at home.

In the meantime, we will devote our social media channels on FacebookInstagram and LinkedIn to make #socialdistancing as easy as possible for you as well as to share important information from health institutes and agencies. So stay tuned – and #flattenthecurve.

News.

The new E-Class.

Automotive intelligence is now getting exciting and dynamic: the E-Class Saloon and Estate have undergone a comprehensive update as the first representatives of this model series. Both models will arrive in the showrooms of our European dealers in summer 2020. The long-wheelbase version of the Saloon (China), as well as the Coupé and Cabriolet, will follow soon thereafter.

E as in efficiency: electrification of the powertrain The electrification of the powertrain takes another major step forward with the model update of the E-Class. Seven models are available as plug-in hybrids (diesel and petrol, Saloon and Estate, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive). The line-up of high-efficiency, low-emission and powerful petrol engines will cover a range from 115 to 270 kW, while the spectrum of diesel vehicles spans from 118 to 243 kW.

For the first time, a four-cylinder petrol engine (M 254) with second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG) producing up to 15 kW of additional output and 180 Nm more torque will complement the engine range. Models equipped with this engine will have a 48-volt on-board electrical system. Thanks to energy recovery and the ability to "glide" with the engine switched off, the petrol engine is highly efficient.

CLA Coupé, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA now with EQ Power.

Mercedes‑Benz Cars is continually increasing its range of plug-in hybrids under the EQ Power label. With the CLA 250 e Coupé, CLA 250 e Shooting Brake and GLA 250 e, Mercedes-Benz is completing the range of EQ Power models in the compact-car family with the third-generation hybrid drive system. The new models can be ordered in spring of this year, with the market launch following just a few weeks later.

The new GLA.

The new GLA, the eighth model to join the line-up, rounds off the current compact car generation from Mercedes-Benz. At the same time, it represents the entry level into the brand’s successful family of SUV models. The character has been significantly reinforced here compared with the previous model: the height of the new GLA, at 1,611 millimetres (1,616 with roof rails), exceeds that of its predecessor by more than ten centimetres. The correspondingly higher and characteristic SUV seating position also comes with more headroom in the first row. Legroom in the rear is likewise much more generous – even though the GLA is now one and a half centimetres shorter. Typical off-road design features include the upright front section, short overhangs at the front and rear, and protective cladding all round. 4MATIC models feature the Off-Road Engineering Package as standard. This comprises an additional driving programme, a downhill driving assist function and an off-road animation in the media display, along with, in combination with MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, a special light function for off-road driving.

With up to seven seats: the new GLB.

The new GLB can be ordered now. This spacious family model will be in the dealerships at the end of 2019. This highly versatile SUV is the first compact model from Mercedes-Benz to be optionally available with a third row of two individual seats. The two optional seats in the third row can be used by passengers up to 1.68 metres in height. More variability comes as standard in the seven-seater: the second seat row has an EASY-ENTRY function and fore-and-aft adjustment. The seat surface has a 40:60 split.
